Waited long for initial menus and service. Three persons. We ordered drinks. Only one got a glass. Asked for glasses for the rest, but waiter indicated she thought the soda and beer can be drunk from the bottle and tin. Eventually got a kiddy glass for my soda about 15 minutes after this request. Cutlery in very poor condition with a knife that cannot even cut a patty. Ordered two fish and chips and one cheeseburger. Chips overall OK. Fish dry and full of bones. Burger pattie way underdone and completely tasteless. Requested tomato sauce. Waitress don't know where to look and it arrived after about 10 minutes. Waitress tried her best, but poor communication from her side overall. We sat in a corner where next to us is a very dirty sort of storage place. I am aware I can complain while there, but the place was so busy and by that time one does not feel in the mood to argue. A big disappointment for a place as nice as Witsand.

The perfect getaway. Great atmosphere, view and service. Playground for children to play when they get restless. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is because every bottle of wine we ordered was out of stock even the one they recommended... after 4 failed attempts we just took anything they had. The rest made up for it and it was a great overall experience. Definitely worth the drive for a family outing

Great venue overlooking the Breede River Mouth area. The menu offers a variety of dishes and this is the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends and family. The staff are really friendly and tried very hard to ensure that they deliver efficient service. Management is present and make constant effort to ensure that customers are happy and well attended to. What is more impressive is the business has opened itself up to assisting young hospitality students with gaining experiential knowledge, skills and training. These young people, are the future for the hospitality industry at large and Spasie’s responsible approach to assist in their development and training needs to be noticed and commended! Well done.

The service was absolutely terrible. The waitress took everyone's orders but when we got the food, one's food was missing (had to wait even longer) and another got the wrong food. The manager/owner tried to rectify the issue but by then the experience was already miserable. We were 8, returning from our Garden Route holiday, and decided we wanted to have a scenic lunch on our last stop, before the final stretch to Cape Town. Saw the place on Google maps. From the moment we got there, we got a sense that we don't belong there. A predominantly white area/place, where even the staff, that are people of colour, make you feel out of place, which is sad. We waited long to be seated, inside, where it's very hot. Asked to move outside when we saw 2 tables open. Then waited long to get served, and to get our food (saw others who came after us get food before us). We didn't drink alcohol because we still had a long drive where everyone needed to be alert, so we just had cold drinks. We couldn't get glasses because we were told they were reserved for wine, yet 2 white people got glasses with ice for their cold drinks. Whilst our drinks were getting warmer in the cans, whilst waiting for our food. By then, we were very annoyed. The manager apologised for issues and gave the order that was wrong for free. We drove almost 30 minutes from the N2 to get there, which was the biggest disappointment thus there was just no redemption by that time. I wouldn't recommend the place if you're a person of colour. One star for half of the food that was nice, and one star for the manager's efforts. We wanted to still have a walk on the beach, but the place left a bitter taste, so we decided to rather go home. Note: I normally tip 15% or above but kept it to minimum 10% this time... Actually felt like not giving a tip
