Experience our permaculture farm in the Klein Karoo
Numbi Valley farm is a wonderful example of off-grid, sustainable living. We practice permaculture on the farm and have lived here, entirely off-grid since 2004. We are passionate about living in harmony with nature, regenerative agriculture, sustainable living and creating abundant eco systems for all to thrive.
Come enjoy our cozy clean guest cottage which has views across the Olifants river valley and towards the Swartberg mountain range.
There is only one private guest cottage on the farm, allowing for a romantic and peaceful getaway, or the perfect family escape. It has its own fresh water natural plunge pool, outdoor fire pit and outdoor pizza oven.
We offer yoga, farm tours, fresh produce, excellent trigger-point massage, delicious pizzas and other meals. There are wonderful walks in the succulent Klein Karoo surrounding the farm, mountain biking on country roads, horse riding for all levels of experience, star gazing evenings and lots more to do in the area.
We encourage a daytrip to explore the dramatic Swartberg pass, stop in Prince Albert for lunch, and a drive back through Meiringspoort to visit the Meiringspoort waterfall. Our minimum stay is 2 nights, but you might find you will want to stay for much longer.

3 months agoWhat a delightful 3-night getaway for our little family. As nature lovers, we appreciate Kath and Ross's thoughtfulness in creating a space that is in sync with the natural surroundings. From the cottage to the infinity pool, the permaculture garden with fresh veg and fruit, and the delicious olive oil and honey. Our 8-year old boy had a great time in the garden and helped feed the chickens. We spent a lot of time in the pool and the evenings around the fire while stargazing. If you'd like to rest, reset and find your creativity and inspiration again...this is the place. Can't wait to go back.

a month agoWe had a wonderful stay at Numbi Valley. Lovely comfortable cottage in a quiet and relaxed space surrounded by nature. Beautiful views. The plunge pool was divine.My dogs had a fantastic time and were free to wander around the property and explore to their hearts content. Hosts were friendly and gentle with them and are clearly animal lovers.We were there for only two nights which really wasn’t enough time, I would recommend 3 nights minimum. A really lovely place.PS: try out their fresh produce. I bought a jar of mulberry jam before we left which is too yummy for words! Wish I had bought some of their other produce.

a month agoWe loved our 2 days & nights with Ross & Kathryn at their permaculture farm. They’ve created a special place where you can truly relax & escape into nature. I have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation & experience. Try their veggies and raw honey 🍯 🥦 🫒

2 months agoThis was an incredibly special place to stay. A beautiful cottage that is artfully furnished with natural materials from the landscape, and the most incredible vista of the mountains out the front door. The farms is truly a labour of love and we were well nourished by our stay there. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

3 months agoWhat an absolute Gem of a place! Beautifullly positioned with amazing views, very peaceful and quiet. The most stunning natural pool and the bathtub is a must on a starry night. Wonderful hosts. Highly recommend
