Love the atmosphere of this lovely small town restaurant. Such a wonderful warm welcome, staff was amazing with excellent service and wonderful food. I will definitely recommend them to anyone. I will definitely be back there.
An unplanned lunch stop turned into something we can’t stop raving about. We took a leisurely stroll down the main road and wanted to grab a takeaway coffee before heading to the next stop but the friendly waiter and contemporary decor invited us into the back garden. Wanting to try something lite to not spoil dinner we settled on the pot pie of the day. I’m still struggling to find the words to describe the rich homely flavours. So we opted to rather change our route home to stop here again and pick up something for the road.
Highly Highly recommend. Absolute gem of a place. Food was absolutely delicious and staff was so friendly and helpful. The place is tastefully decorated, creating a wonderful inviting atmosphere. It is wheelchair accessible and has vegan/vegetarian options on the menu. Small little shop attached selling homemade jams and sauces.
Food delicious and creative, depending on what you order, you might need to ask for a sharper knife. The music could be more suitable to a natural environment, I felt it was too "heavy" and "regimental" which detracted from the peaceful ambience that the owners have gone to great lengths to create; "lighter" music would change the entire atmosphere and make the overall experience much more enjoyable. Service could be a lot sharper.
Lovely spot to stop in De Rust. Friendly staff and very interesting shops! Super outdoor area at the back with small, dog friendly garden. Food good, however I found the lamb wrap too sweet...too much barbecue sauce, couldn't taste the lamb. Also sweet dressing on the salad. Perhaps put dressing on the side? Lovely tea... 2 tea bags in pot! 5 stars for this alone!
