3 months agoThis is a lively restaurant with a pub. The burgers we had was delicious and the portion of Chips was generous. Definitely value for money. It is not your normal below standard pub and grub restaurant. The staff is competent and friendly. The owner is hands-on making sure his clients are satisfied.

a month agoFound ourselves hunting for a spot to watch the Springboks vs Ireland match while staying in De Rust, and our host pointed us to Herries. What a great recommendation! It’s a cool little restaurant and pub with friendly staff, ice-cold beer, gin on tap, and a Herries pizza which unfortunately did not hit all the right spots. We watched the game, chatted with the locals, and had an all-round fantastic time despite the pizza that was not that great. Definitely pop in if you’re ever driving through!

a month agoWe were traveling from Mossel Bay to Randfontein, searched for food and found this Gem. Awesome service, great food, great prices. The owner had a chat with us, very nice, humble and inspiring person. Will definitely recommend paying them a visit!

a year agoWe were happy that this old favorite in De Rust opened again. Looks cozy. Unfortunately, the old-time favorite mosbolletjie bread was old. One aspect that needs serious attention is the slow staff. It took more than 15 minutes just to pay for 2 items. This restaurant feels hostile inside, and it is NOT an animal friendly restaurant. Get with the program and modern times, as so many people travel with animals. We will never visit again until dogs are allowed.
