4 months ago⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Memorable Lunch at Tall Goose, OudtshoornI recently had lunch at Tall Goose in Oudtshoorn, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. I ordered the Ploughman’s Platter, and it exceeded every expectation — beautifully presented, full of colour, flavour, and imagination. The platter featured tender slices of ostrich meat and delicate ostrich carpaccio, paired with a fresh, creative salad that included pear slices and vibrant seasonal vegetables. The selection of cheeses was excellent, and the lightly toasted home-baked bread was the perfect accompaniment. I loved the variety of dips and condiments — from a bright pesto to a tangy chutney and a creamy spread — each one adding its own touch to the meal.Everything tasted incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared, but what truly made the lunch special was the exceptional service. Our waitress was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about her work. She made me feel welcome and took the time to ensure everything was perfect.Tall Goose is a gem in Oudtshoorn — offering outstanding food, warm hospitality, and a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back!

2 months agoBeautiful venue with a great atmosphere — and I really loved the shop. We sat for quite a while without being helped, and eventually went to the counter to place our order. Everything we ordered was from the glass display, but it still took a long time to arrive. The cakes and drinks were excellent. That said, the oversized forks didn’t match the style or quality of the venue — a bit like serving wine in a water glass (just as an example). Overall, there’s huge potential here. We came on recommendation and enjoyed the setting and the store, but the service let it down. A simple fix would be proper cake forks and more attentive service — including keeping phones off the floor — which would make a noticeable difference.

7 months agoNe menu is delicious. Had the chicken, bacon, etc bedazzled toastie with salad and companion had the poached egg and avo. Utterly delicious salad, no over abundance of lettuce, tasty ingredients. Definitely worth more visits.

3 weeks agoThe food was good, but the service level was terrible. The waitress didn’t know what was on the menu and she showed some attitude. After giving the food she never followed up in any way. She might be new, but your “training” needs to be better. Left a very sour taste unfortunately

a year agoQuite possibly the worst breakfast I have ever had to pay for. Family of 4, our bill came to R565. What a waste of time and money. Especially since we have to find somewhere else to eat.I had the spinach and feta omelette, had about 3 bites and it was not edible. An overcooked slimy mess. ‘Toast’ was cold and soggy. Coffee watery and could maybe pass for steamed milk. Not one of us ate very much of our food. Was not asked how our meal was. Waiter oblivious. Shockingly slow service.I will never recommend this place or be back.
