The Lazy Lizard started life as a bus terminal, then it became a curio shop, then a coffee shop/Internet caffe.
Today it serves great food, and its a place to get information about what’s good to see in the region around Prince Albert, and as a place to get a B&B booking.
The ‘Lizard is a pleasantly lively and homely place. Something is always going on, and the atmosphere is great. The food is far better than you’ll get in almost any other cafe outside of Prince Albert, at surprisingly competitive prices.
You can be sure that if you visit the ‘Lizard, you’ll have a good time, and if you buy anything there, you won’t be disappointed.

4 weeks agoThe lamb chops were really amazing, perfectly cooked and tasty. The side was a lot of different choice of vegetables plain/ boiled on top of a delicious broth. I also enjoyed the pea soup but it was a little bit too thick for my taste. The fresh juice was delicious and the smoothie as well. The price of everything was very reasonable, definitely recommend this place.

2 months agoI recently had the privilege of visiting Prince Albert on an artist retreat and was delighted by the Lazy Lizard. The atmosphere was inviting and the antiques reminded me of a time when quality was polished and refined. I enjoyed the refreshing lemon sorbet and for the taste that enjoys contrasting flavours, a cappuccino can be recommended. I hope to visit again and will definitely book a room as the guest rooms looked most appealing.

in the last weekWent here for a lunch after our Swartberg pass drive. Very friendly service and tasty food. We ordered the lamb pie and a spinach/feta quiche, both with a salad and chips on the side and some gravy for the pie. Good portions and very tasty as well as the homemade lemonade. Nice little place which also sells some local products + hand made souvenirs. Recommended

8 months agoGreat place to stop for those on the road, especially with kids or international traveler’s looking for local food experience and/or gifts to buy. Food is of high quality and big portions. If you do sit outside in summer, use something for mosquitos and some parts of the playground might be too hot to play on.

a year agoIt is absolutely worth a visit. It is one of a few restaurants in Prince Albert that open early and close late. 7pm tot 7 am. Huge outdoor seating area. Pet friendly. The food is really good. Most divine coffee in town. Their cakes are freshly made and delicious. Inside, they sell wine, fresh produce , and preservatives. The menu is vast and the breakfast was outstanding. The staff are extremely friendly and well trained. Highly recommended.
