Cottages & Chalets
If you are looking for a rustic, true african experience then you have come to the right place. There are just three chalets set on a hillside overlooking valleys where 10 species of game roam freely. You are surrounded by the famous Enon red hills and you look directly onto the magnificent Swartberg Mountains. Each of the chalets has a private deck with armchairs and cushions, each decorated in a different animal theme. If you are looking for luxury 5* this is not the place for you, but we do endeavour to give you all the comforts that you might need.

Perfect honeymoon hideaway
The Chalets are set 300 metres from the main lodge buildings where we eat dinner and breakfast and where we light our nightly fire – this is where we encourage all our wild animals to come close to our guests which makes every evening a really special occasion. The Chalets are directly linked to our two walking trails which take you right into the hills and valleys and back to your chalet. Our 4th Cottage is a self catering Cottage tucked away in the river bed. It has its own fireplace and you are completely secluded from the main lodge and other Chalets – but may of course join the other guests for breakfast or dinner, as you wish. This is a perfect honeymoon hideaway.

The Zwartberg Lodge is conveniently located between Oudtshoorn and De Rust, just off the N12 crossing the iconic Pink Bridge. This family-run Lodge impresses with suttle finishing touches like a soft blue light in the chalets enabling the guest to safely move around at night. The chalets is equiped with a much needed aircon, a refrigerator and a tea/coffee station. The chalets is well designed and immaculately clean...and, ladies, there is a hairdryer (yeah!)Lodge You will have breakfast and dinner at the Lodge. Excellent food, well presented with generous portions. There is also a bar.You can enjoy the pool on the deck or relax sitting on comfortable chairs while chatting to other guests or watching the animals during feeding time.Cyclists 🚴‍♂️ You will be able to enjoy a couple of cycling routes outside the property, so bring your 2 wheeler along.Tips: You are far from a shop and other amenities. Come prepared.Wifi signal is strong inside the Lodge, but spotty outside and at the Chalets. If you have an impairment, discussed with the owner before you make the booking.A pair of binoculars will come in handy.Well worth a visit and the owner can expect return business from me.

If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful place to relax and unwind - this is the place. No crowds or noise - just the beautiful view from your room , walking in the veld (maybe you meet the resident giraffe), and thoughtful hosts. Our stay was too short. Thank you for everything. The delicious food and the care you take with all your guests.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and it was an unforgettable experience! The breathtaking mountain scenery was like something out of a postcard, providing the perfect backdrop for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. The entire property was impeccably clean, with every detail carefully attended to, which made our stay even more comfortable. The food was absolutely top-notch—delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. Whether you're looking for a serene escape or just a place to unwind and enjoy nature, this hotel exceeds all expectations. Highly recommended!

A lovely Karoo-stay. The chalets are neat and practically furnished, fortunately with air conditioning, but without wifi and TV, ideal for relaxing. Both on your terrace and at the restaurant you can enjoy the many animals and especially during a morning walk. Hannalize is a very good chef, the dinner was always very well cared for and a delicious Karoo kitchen is offered. We can certainly recommend a stay here for people who love peace and nature.

Lovely and quiet. In the morning when you open the curtains, do not be surprised to find the springbucks grazing in front if your chalet. All through the day we were able to see the giraffe on the koppie. The kids loved going to the restaurant around 5o'clock in the afternoons when the animals are fed. The hiking trails are quiet and clearly marked. Food are out of this world! Beautifully plated, rich taste and more than enough to fill your tummy. The hosts are friendly and extremely helpful.
