The Bitou River hosts an abundance of natural gems, only appreciated by exploring this river. Bitou Kayaks invites you to go on a 2, 3, or 4-hour paddle to experience the peace and tranquility and magnificent birdlife of the Bitou River.
Hire a kayak and wander along the river at your own pace or join us on a guided paddle at an additional cost. No previous kayaking experience is required. We will provide a mandatory pre-trip safety briefing as well as the necessary safety gear. All our kayaks have been certified by SAMSA. You will be provided with a waterproof pouch for your mobile and car keys.

2 months agoWe have really enjoyed our 4h kayak trip on the Bitou River. The nature here is amazing and Josh was super friendly and gave us some super interesting information on the wildlife in the river and plettenberg bay.

10 months agoWe had a lovely hour’s trip along the river. Some of us spotted the Knysna Loeries and we heard a fish eagle in the distance. It’s a very peaceful activity to do. We booked via WhatsApp and Lee was very helpful. Luckily she gave us good directions as to how to get there - via the car park of Emily Moon. Our very friendly guide, Joe, greeted us and had us sorted out very quickly. It was a morning well-spent.

The equipment was in great condition, and everything about the process felt smooth and reliable. A special shoutout to Luke who helped us—he was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and went out of his way to ensure we had the best possible experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and well-organized adventure!
