Nothando Backpackers Lodge features a garden, shared lounge area and fireplace for BBQs. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
The rooms all come with garden views, heating and tea-and-coffee making facilities. Some include a private bathroom, and other rooms have access to a shared bathroom.
Guests are free to use the shared kitchen, lounge, bar and BBQ facilities. There is also a tour desk and transport service to a number of adventure activities such as Monkeyland and Face Adrenalin bungy jump bridge.
Nothando Backpackers Lodge is located only 500 meters from the Plettenberg Bay Central Business District, and 1 km from the Birds of Eden aviary. Plettenberg Bay Airport is 8 km away.

3 months agoSuch a clean, cozy, and eclectic place with a lot of character. The host was incredibly generous and hospitable —so warm and welcoming. She even cooked us an amazing meal with the most thoughtful touches. A stay here feels more like visiting a friend’s home than a hostel. Highly recommend!

a week agoNo frills, no fuss. Perfect place to stay. Do listen to the owner when she recommends stuff to do. And having a friendly 🐕 makes things great.

a month agoJune 2025: It felt like a "homestay". I was in the Dorm. Room was cleaned on a daily basis. We received clean towels each morning. Extra blankets were available at no extra cost. Great management kept all guests to the house rules. The owner/host is a sweetheart and shows interest in all of her guests. This is a place for young adults and more the mature travelers/backpackers. It's situated in town, close to shops and walking distance to the beach.

4 months agoI had a very personable and generous experience with Nothando and the owner Vinthi. Every guest was given care and attention with grace and ease, and there was a consistent offer of being shared with, be it food, health remedies, etc. Full of good recommendations of what to do and how best to do it.

5 months agoI stayed at the backpackers lodge twice and was met with incredible hospitality from Vinthi and the staff. The kitchen was well equipped and could be used whenever, very clean rooms and shower and the beds were very comfortable. Vinthi was very sweet and was very kind to guide you to nice things to do, and help where needed. Will definitely come back and would recommend!
