Pangeli Poke Bowl sits in the picturesque little haven of Salt Rock, looking every bit like the sort of place you’d expect sunshine, good vibes and excellent food. And to be fair, the food absolutely delivers: fresh ingredients, great combinations, and bowls that could win hearts far and wide. It could be the most popular spot in Salt Rock… if manners were also on the menu. To be clear, this isn’t about the staff at all. The staff are perfectly pleasant, just doing their jobs, and frankly I feel rather sorry for them. The issue lies firmly at the top. Being spoken to rudely by the owner isn’t charming, edgy or funny. It’s not even amusing when Gordon Ramsay does it on telly, so I certainly don’t pay good money to be talked down to in real life. A bit of cheeky banter is one thing, but there’s a difference between humour and plain bad manners. Life is hard enough as it is without having to tolerate unnecessary attitude while ordering lunch. Good food should leave you feeling satisfied, not slightly insulted. So yes, the poke bowls are excellent. But sadly, no amount of fresh fish can make up for a lack of basic courtesy. And that’s a real shame. An opinion shared by others as fewer locals support this restaurant as time goes by. Best of luck to them.

Where to even begin, the food here is amazing, fresh and delicious. 10/10 on all the dishes tried, also enjoyed the tastiest Kombucha which was highly recommended by the owner

This was a complete and utter joy to eat at Pangeli salt rock. We were here 2years ago and had to come back..As we stepped foot into this restaurant we were greeted with so much respect,kindness and super welcoming environment,it felt like home...the welcoming owner shaun helped us decide on the mouth watering menu as there is such delicious foodies on the menu.. a must try are the tacos the dumplings and sushi hotdogs.. so get out your comfort zone and get to pangeli and enjoy the most amazing experience of good food and great hospitality.. Would 100% come back and would 100% recommend. Thank you pangeli for the incredible experience... after 2years the addiction is definitely real and still stands and runs deep.....

Best food and experience in Natal 🍤 tacos were sublime and the dumplings were worth the drive from Umhlanga. Sean is an incredible host, warm and insightful. Get here!
