Spasie on Breede in Witsand was an absolute highlight of our visit. The food was outstanding.What really made the experience special was the personal touch from the owner, Marius, who took the time to spend with us and made us feel genuinely welcome.At the bar area, Rynhardt and Cameron were incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the relaxed and warm atmosphere. Unfortunately nothing about our experience at Spasie was enjoyable. Waiter gave away our table after we came in to book a spot suitable for our baby and stroller. Waited long for our food which once arrived was bland and unsatisfying. We received a sauce which had too much oil to be consumed. Received an extremely dirty steak knife - seemed like the waitron took it from someone else’s plate and brought it straight to us. Immediately lost our appetite.Overall expected much more as this is prime location in Witsand. Very disappointed and won’t recommend.

Waited long for initial menus and service. Three persons. We ordered drinks. Only one got a glass. Asked for glasses for the rest, but waiter indicated she thought the soda and beer can be drunk from the bottle and tin. Eventually got a kiddy glass for my soda about 15 minutes after this request. Cutlery in very poor condition with a knife that cannot even cut a patty. Ordered two fish and chips and one cheeseburger. Chips overall OK. Fish dry and full of bones. Burger pattie way underdone and completely tasteless. Requested tomato sauce. Waitress don't know where to look and it arrived after about 10 minutes. Waitress tried her best, but poor communication from her side overall. We sat in a corner where next to us is a very dirty sort of storage place. I am aware I can complain while there, but the place was so busy and by that time one does not feel in the mood to argue. A big disappointment for a place as nice as Witsand.

My guilty pleasure is a glass of red wine with a pork belly salad or the biltong, blue cheese and fig pizza. Yesterday I had the pizza for the first time in a while and as usual I was far from disappointed. Blessings to the ladies who worked in this baking heat by that pizza oven 🏻 my taste buds went to heaven

The perfect getaway. Great atmosphere, view and service. Playground for children to play when they get restless. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is because every bottle of wine we ordered was out of stock even the one they recommended... after 4 failed attempts we just took anything they had. The rest made up for it and it was a great overall experience. Definitely worth the drive for a family outing
