a week agoI visited Seeplaas and overall had a good experience. I would rate it 4 stars. The art gallery is wonderful, with beautiful pieces and a very nice atmosphere. It’s a great place to enjoy art while relaxing. The food presentation was very good and looked impressive when served. However, the service was a bit mixed. Some waiters were friendly and helpful, while others seemed rushed and eager to finish quickly. A few orders were also taken incorrectly, and some people did not receive exactly what they ordered. Even with the service issues, it is still a lovely place to visit for the art, atmosphere, and nicely presented food.

2 months agoThis has always been one of our favourite places, which is why we brought our family back again in 2026. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. The food was excellent, but the service fell far below expectation. Upon arrival, we were told the restaurant was full and asked to wait. Once a table became available, the delays continued. We waited a long time to be served, our drinks took an excessive amount of time, and one drink was forgotten entirely. The wait for food was also very long, and one meal — for a diabetic guest — was forgotten, which was particularly concerning. Despite the restaurant being full, there appeared to be sufficient staff. However, guests frequently had to approach waiters themselves to ask for the bill, ice, or assistance. When I asked for additional chairs, I was told to fetch them myself from other tables. We were never asked if we wanted more drinks, and in total we spent nearly two hours for a sandwich, carrot cake, and a small portion of calamari. We will still consider staying here again, but unfortunately will not be dining at the restaurant in future, which is truly disappointing given how much we previously enjoyed it. I sincerely hope future guests have a better experience.Compliments to the chef as the food was at least very tasteful.

a week agoNot sure what happened at this restaurant, but it's most probably the worst value for money in the Mosselbay area.We use to love eating at Seeplaas, in Jan we had bad experienced with the food - twice in a row. We gave it a brake and decided to give it a go again this weekend past - Never again, as mentioned above - most probably the most expensive with very poor quality food.

3 months agoSeeplaas GrootbrakrivierWe couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up our weekend than with a visit to Seeplaas Grootbrakrivier. Arriving for breakfast and dessert, we were immediately captivated by the stunning location – perched right on the water's edge with the sea stretching endlessly before us. The atmosphere was pure tranquility. There's something magical about enjoying your morning coffee while listening to the gentle rhythm of the waves, and the views provided the most spectacular backdrop imaginable. After our delicious meal, we wandered through their charming on-site gallery and shop, which added an unexpected cultural dimension to our visit. What impressed us most was how Seeplaas caters to everyone. Whether you're interested in their gin tasting experiences, content to simply watch the ocean, or have energetic little ones who need space to explore, there's something for everyone. The expansive lawn is perfect for children to run freely while parents relax. Our waiter truly enhanced the experience with attentive, helpful service delivered with genuine warmth and positivity. It's these thoughtful touches that transform a good meal into a memorable experience. Seeplaas offers more than just excellent food – it's a complete sensory escape that left us already planning our return visit.

2 months agoFantastic place. If your visiting the area, you need to stop here. The food is really good. The art gallery amazing! If they are busy don't bargain on getting a table when you show up.
